How we handle your CV

What we collect

The CV PDF you upload, and the job advert text if you paste one.

To check, build or rebuild your CV, we do not ask for your name, email address or an account.

No payment details. cvmakerr is free until 1 January 2027, so we never ask for a Mobile Money number.

How we use it

Your CV is processed to generate your score and, if you pay, your rebuilt CV. That is the only use.

We do not sell your data, share it with employers or recruiters, or use your CV to train AI models.

How long we keep it

Your CV and any advert text are deleted within 24 hours.

Your rights

Under Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it sooner.

Weekly job tips email (optional)

If you sign up for weekly job tips, we collect your email address, the kind of jobs you want, where you signed up and, only if you give it, your WhatsApp number. We record that you agreed and when.

We use these only to send you job tips and, if you gave your number, job alerts on WhatsApp. We never sell them or share them with employers or recruiters. Signing up is never needed to use cvmakerr.

Your details are stored with our email provider, Resend, which may store them outside Uganda. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time by emailing hello@cvmakerr.com.

Following our WhatsApp channel is separate: channel followers’ phone numbers are not shown to us.

Visitor statistics

Our host, Vercel, counts page visits for us (for example which pages are viewed, the country and the type of device). It uses no cookies and does not identify you, and it never sees your CV.

Analytics

We use PostHog to count how people use cvmakerr, for example how many CVs are checked, average scores, which CV formats are chosen and which job sites people visit, so we can improve the tool.

We never send your CV, its text, your name, file names, the job advert you paste, your email or your phone number to analytics. We don’t record your screen.

An anonymous ID is stored in your browser to count returning visits. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, we don’t collect analytics at all.
